Cochamó

Place where estuaries meet the sea. This name was given by the Mapuche people, and its powerful geography can be admired before diving into the sea.

Technically, the Patagonia begins in southern Osorno located in Los Lagos Region. It is also called Green Patagonia, and it is situated on the mainland. We travel by land from Santiago to show you this unmissable Huilliche vacation for climbers, trekkers, and adventurers.

After covering a total distance of 1,068 km (663.624 mi), passing through postcard-landscapes with diverse nature and mountains. We arrive at Cochamó, a fisherman’s cove in the Relocavi estuary, and the first fiord at the Patagonia, where we feast before entering into the Valdivian Forest.

We move forward Cochamó River, a brief tour along the 783 Road to arrive at El Morro Entrance where the trail starts.

Imposing nature and granite skirt Cochamó River and reach La Junta, which is situated 13 km (8.078 mi) from the river. Depending on the rate, this hike can take us between 4 or 7 hours. Once at La Junta, we could enjoy Cerro Arcoíris, natural slides, the base of the Cerro Trinidad, Cerro La Paloma, and the amphitheater.
